The PopShop

The PopShop was one of my most recent projects, where we had to design and create things to sell in a shop in Hereford, set up by the college.
I began by designing characters and ideas, but I already knew that I was going to go down a 3D route.
I made a few rough sculptures, and decided that the best material for me to use would be coloured fimo.
I bought primary colours, plus black and white, and some additional items for my keyrings such as hooks, wire, clips, and resin.
In total, I spent around sixty pounds on materials pre creation and selling.
I began making a few cats doing different things, and then moved on to creating cats with a more simple design, in different colours.
I took them home in batches and cooked them to set the clay, before adding the wire, hooks and finally some decorative beads.
I ended up having eighty keyrings in total, and putting them on sale for £3.50 each.
I sold around half of my outcomes, the rest going on sale on Etsy.
From the PopShop alone, I made a total of £118, and a profit of £58.
